Alki Wednesday Night Series

Ride leaves promptly at 7:05 pm. LIGHTS ARE A MUST! Strenuous group leaves at 7:15 pm. This ride series is in jeopardy of continuing on with STP fast approaching. We are having riders show up that want to push the pace faster than brisk. We are a stick-together group. If you want strenuous, we've accommodated you by having a strenuous group leave at 7:15 pm. We want everyone to enjoy the ride, but the ride leaders only want to ride with people who like group riding. Dinner stop at Spiro's Pizza after the ride.

This is a midweek leg stretch and saddle warm-up. We will also find a good hill climb to work on those quads.

Seattle Industrial Area to Alki Pt

The ride will explore the beauty of the Seattle industrial area, travelling Alaskan Way onto scenic Harbor Island, over a $93 million bridge to Alki Beach where Seattle's first settlers landed. Railroad tracks and rough ground abound, so fragile bikes must beware.

Every other Thursday, a regular crowd of old friends and a curious crowd of new friends ride as far as evening light permits, venturing places seldom seen via routes seldom taking. We don't go looking for a challenge (we'll never ride the Counterbalance), but neither do we avoid one (we've topped many a hill and then waited for the sightseers among us.) Bring a bit of money for dinner afterword at the TBD. Heavy rain means we eat early.

What a ride - all in a loop. You get two ferry rides. Gasworks to Edmonds, Kingston to Chief Sealth's gravesite (Seattle was named after the Chief) to Agate Pass and back to Gasworks after cross-sound transport. Bring money for ferries.

Stay-together ride via Snohomish with mid-point stop at Centennial Bike Center at approximately 10:00 am. Same pace - mostly moderate with bursts of brisk and spurts of social. No long stops. Bring and/or buy lunch. Women strongly encouraged.

Enjoy Pt. Townsend and spend the night at the hostel - special rate for bicyclists. Return by Cape George and West Valley with a stop at Poulsbo Bakery on the way home.
