Mysterious Mondays

If you want thrills, if you need speed - Mysterious Mondays are the rides you need. John and Dave invite you to come out and challenge yourself and improve your strength and riding skills. After the ride, come to the Grillhouse and Taproom for recuperation and rehydration. Strong lungs, legs, and motivation required.

STP Training Ride - SE Edition

A continuation of the STP training rides from Spring. Stay in shape or train for other rides. Various routes from Renton to surrounding areas (Bellevue, Issaquah, Maple Valley, Kent, Seattle, or Mercer Island). Depending on turnout, group will split into two or three groups. Planned route will often have a few good hills. Ride starts at 5:45 pm sharp!

Stay-together relaxed tours of Lake Washington neighborhoods. Lots of places to dine later in Madison Park and Madison Valley. Not an after-dark ride but bring a light just in case.

Alki Wednesday Night Series

Helmets and lights required! Ride leaves promptly at 7:05 pm. This is a stick-together group. Dinner stop at Spiro's Pizza after the ride.

This friendly, mostly experienced group of cyclists likes riding, socializing, and eating. Top that! We welcome newcomers and enjoy sharing our experience and good times. We try to keep track of everyone while emphasizing out-of-the-way scenic routes around Seattle followed by lively dinners near Gasworks. Real rain means we eat early... Oh goody!

Meet at the dirt parking area across from Seattle Water Park in Landsbury. Take Issaquah exit from I-90 (exit 17), go south on Issaquah-Ravensdale Rd. through Hobart to the Cedar River. Lunch stop in Enumclaw. Bring or buy lunch.

Enjoy the always popular shore run from Sounthworth to Port Orchard, plus parts of the Peninsula Century, metric and half-metric century rides. Bring lunch or buy take-out in Port Orchard for a picnic at the lake.

Take 11:05 am ferry to Southworth. Outrageously scenic ride to Gig Harbor for lunch or snack at the "Tides" Restaurant.

Moderate pace on flats, slower on hills. Views of mountains, lakes, and sound. Stick-together group. Party at Italian Spaghetti House, 98th and Lake City Way at 4:30 pm.

Pointless Ride

A nice ride from Winslow to Point No Point and back. The shore at the lunch stop has a limited selection of food. This will be a stick-together group. Please no calls after 9 pm.

Ferry to Southworth and ride to lunch in Gig Harbor, returning across the Narrows Bridge and down Vashon Island. A fun annual ride.

Gasworks Thursday

Explore Seattle's backstreets at a comfortable pace with a sociable crowd. Every other Thursday, a regular crowd of old friends and a curious crowd of new friends ride as far as evening light permits, venturing places seldom seen via routes seldom taking. We don't go looking for a challenge (we'll never ride the Counterbalance), but neither do we avoid one (we've topped many a hill and then waited for the sightseers among us.) Bring a bit of money for dinner afterword at the TBD. Heavy rain means we eat early.

Ride to the Black Diamond Bakery for lunch and back. Join us for a fun ride and have lunch and visit the museum. Get off your couch and tell a friend. Bring money for lunch. Metro Transit Center is on corner of James and Lincoln in Kent. Hope to see ya there.

Valleys of the Sky

Explore the side roads of the Skykomish Valley from the quaint mountain town of Index to the Tye River above the Cascade Tunnel. About 3,000 feet of climbing on paved roads with manageable grades. Several stops to take in the river scenery. Bring picnic lunch and LOTS of liquids (no water available near lunch site.) Carpool at 7:45 am at Tracy Owen Station - please stop and see if we can combine SOV cars and match car-less riders with rides.

FUN RIDE - Hill Slugs do Twin Peaks

Issaquah to Fall City to Snoqualmie to North Bend for "a damn fine cup of Joe and cherry pie." Return on the wide, wide shoulder of I-90. Start: I-90 exit #17, south on Front St., left on Sunset, go one block and park in gravel lot just south of City Hall.

From I-405 take exit #4 onto HWY 169, go south for 1.5 miles. Go right on 140th Way SE for 2 miles, then left on Petrovitsky Road for 1.8 miles to park on left.

Directions to start: Hwy 167, take SR 18 east Auburn-Auburn/Black Diamond exit. Go right onto Auburn-Black Diamond Road and then right on SE Green Valley Road 0.1 miles. Bring or buy lunch. Those of us that "Brown Bag It" will eat at the Enumclaw County Park.

We'll catch the 11:30 am ferry to Kingston, then bike to the Olympic Music Festival. Admission $18 (in the barn), $10 (outside, on grass, with cheapskate ride leaders). Bring lunch, sunglasses, and brim (grass seats face sun.) May also have brisk group if there is a demand.

7th Annual Moonlight Meander

Come enjoy some night time bicycling with the full moon helping to light our way. We'll take a break halfway through to enjoy a spectacular night time view and treats to share that are provided by you. Bring your favorite food to share. We need a couple of volunteers to transport the food to the break point, give us a call if interested. Headlights and rear reflector required, rear lights recommended.

International Hostel Hop (August 26-27-28th) OVERNITE

Come and explore the Canadian Gulf Islands. We'll take in the sights and stay two nights at the Saltspring Hostel. On Saturday, we'll experience the laid back life of an islander. Carpooling to/from Tsawwassen is encouraged. Call for more ride and cost information. RSVP by August 20th. Limit 12 explorers!

STPT2 - Seattle to Port Townsend 2 (overnight) August 27-28, 1994

A rambling adventure from the waterfront of the Emerald City to the shoreline overlook of Manresa Castle in Port Townsend. Meet at Colman Ferry Dock at 7:30 am to catch the 7:50 am ferry. This is an overnight, self-contained ride. Riders are responsible for their own reservations at Manresa Castle in Port Townsend. Sorry, the jacuzzi in room 301 is already reserved! But, there are additional rooms with jacuzzi's, so make your reservations early!
